The Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute is located in Punta della Dogana, in the “belly” of Venice, placed as a watershed between the Basin of San Marco and the Giudecca canal.
It was built in Palladian style as a votive offering to the Madonna following a plague epidemic in 1600.
The Virgin Mary became one of the patron saints of the city and, as happened with the Reedentore, it is now one of the most important festivities in Venice.
Starting from the blue color of the Madonna’s veil, SALUTE takes up the pearl of the BURANO line, with a lightened line and with a wider color tone.
